Bedraggled, a crumb of a girl –
Maudlin air about her shoulders
Where longer hair once rested
In knots and ill-attention;
The only knots that know her now
Exist inside herself – scarlet depths!
Where intestines writhe and hearts break –
Where thoughts twist and turn black;
She holds herself poorly, sickness
Not in health, nor mind, but in spirit;
Apathetic non-existence – impossibly loud!
With the screaming nature of her silence.
