My will is nothing to gravity

The piercing sound of my body failing
Becomes unbearable in seconds;
A prelude to the cold fire that burns in my chest
While my racing heart – beating ever faster –
Takes it’s place at the back of my throat,
The taste of the blood lingering there –
As I desperately clutch onto my vanishing senses;
Feeling the loss of them all at once,
Before my mind is dragged down
Beneath a cloud of ink –
And submits itself unto
The all consuming void.
